The long-running manga series Black Clover has officially concluded with the publication of its 392nd and final chapter in the Spring issue of Jump GIGA magazine, marking the end of an eleven-year serialization. Authored by Yuuki Tabata, the fantasy adventure first debuted in the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump in February 2015, following a successful one-shot published the previous year. The series transitioned to Jump GIGA in late 2023, continuing its story before reaching its ultimate conclusion. The 37th compiled volume was released in September 2025, with the 38th and final volume scheduled for release on August 4, 2025, providing fans with a complete physical collection of the epic tale.
The story of Black Clover is set in the Clover Kingdom, a world where magic is everything. It follows Asta, a determined orphan born without any magical power in a society that values it above all else. Despite this, he fiercely clings to his dream of becoming the Wizard King, the strongest mage in the land. His rival is Yuno, his childhood friend blessed with immense wind magic, who shares the same lofty goal. The pivotal moment arrives during their Grimoire acquisition ceremony at age fifteen, where Yuno receives a legendary four-leaf clover Grimoire while Asta gets nothing. However, when Yuno is attacked, Asta’s unbreakable will manifests his own unique Grimoire—one with an unprecedented black five-leaf clover, setting him on his own extraordinary path.
Beyond the manga, Black Clover grew into a massive multimedia franchise. Studio Pierrot produced a highly successful anime adaptation, with its first season premiering in Fall 2017 and running for an impressive 170 episodes, which were streamed internationally by Crunchyroll. The franchise expanded further with the anime film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, which opened in Japanese theaters in June 2023. For English-speaking audiences, VIZ Media has been publishing the manga since 2016, with the 36th volume released in January 2025. The story is set to continue in animated form, as a second anime season is officially scheduled to premiere in 2026, ensuring the adventures of Asta and the Black Bulls will live on for both new and existing fans.
