Version 4.2 of Honkai: Star Rail officially launches on April 22, 2026, across all platforms including PS5, PC, and mobile. The update serves a dual purpose: advancing the game’s epic narrative while throwing a party for its dedicated player base. The central narrative thrust introduces the Planarcadia storyline, a fresh chapter in the Trailblazer’s journey. Alongside this, the update features the debut of Silver Wolf LV 999, an alternate version of the fan-favorite character. However, the spotlight shines brightest on the suite of 3rd Anniversary events and rewards designed to give back to the community.

Extensive 3rd Anniversary Freebies and Rewards

HoYoVerse is marking the milestone with an exceptional array of free rewards, ensuring every player can partake in the celebration. Furthermore, all players will receive one Golden Companion Spirit, exchangeable in the Stellar Convergence Store for a permanent five-star addition to their roster; this store’s lineup now includes Huohuo and Robin.

Login events are equally bountiful. The Festive Gifts login event distributes a total of 20 Special Passes for limited character banners over seven days. The first half, commencing on April 22, will feature debut banners for Silver Wolf LV 999, Castorice, The Dahlia, and Firefly. At the version’s midpoint, these will rotate out to make way for a second wave of banners showcasing the five-star characters Evanescia, Feixiao, Tribbie, and Sunday. HoYoVerse has also previously teased the arrival of the Elation Trailblazer path within this patch, offering a new combat style for the protagonist.

Planarcadia Storyline and New Gameplay Activities

Beyond the anniversary festivities, version 4.2 advances the game’s core narrative with the Planarcadia storyline, as highlighted in the official update trailer.
