The long-awaited sequel to the beloved deck-building roguelike has finally locked in its early access release date. Slay the Spire 2 will arrive for players on March 5th, 2026, after a brief delay pushed it back to this now-confirmed Thursday launch.
Developer Mega Crit Games has revealed that the sequel will introduce a major new feature that fans have been clamoring for: a four-player cooperative mode. This addition promises to transform the strategic, single-player card-battling experience into a shared adventure, allowing friends to combine their decks and tactics to conquer the spire‘s challenges together.
The early access period will give the community a chance to shape the game’s development, providing feedback on new cards, relics, characters, and the freshly minted co-op mechanics. While the core loop of ascending a procedurally generated tower of monsters and bosses remains, the sequel is expected to expand on every aspect of its predecessor with new art, audio, and deeper strategic systems.
