For fans of strategic card games and deckbuilders, this weekend on PC is shaping up to be an exciting one with the return of the Steam Deckbuilders Fest. This promotional event, which comes back after a year-long hiatus, focuses on discounting a wide array of card-centric games and titles that incorporate card mechanics into their core gameplay. Major highlights include the wildly popular roguelike poker game Balatro, which has captivated players with its inventive mechanics, alongside newer titles like Gambonanza, offering a fresh spin on the genre. This festival provides a perfect opportunity for both seasoned players and newcomers to explore or expand their digital card game libraries at reduced prices.
Beyond Steam, numerous other digital storefronts are hosting significant sales and promotions. Battle.net is featuring discounts on key titles from Blizzard’s catalog, while the Epic Games Store is running a Square Enix Golden Week Sale, offering deals on classic and modern RPGs. GOG.com continues its focus on role-playing games with ongoing discounts, and the Humble Store has officially kicked off its expansive Spring Sale. Furthermore, several stores are offering launch discounts on new titles such as Mixtape and the recently released Steam Early Access game Dead As Disco, adding more variety to the weekend’s deal offerings.
Several notable bundles and subscription services are also available. Humble Choice for May is a particularly strong offering, providing subscribers with eight games for $14.99, including major titles like Diablo 4 and Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. Additionally, Humble Bundle has launched multiple themed pay-what-you-want bundles covering genres from VR experiences and mecha games to turn-based strategy and golf simulators. For instance, the Mecha Mania bundle allows users to acquire games like Mechabellum and Vox Machinae at tiered price points, while the Dead Rising bundle offers the entire remastered series for fans of zombie action.
Individual storefronts are also providing exclusive coupon codes. Green Man Gaming is offering a MAY15 coupon for 15% off most PC games, and Ubisoft is providing a LEGEND coupon that saves $10 on purchases over $19.99. For those looking for free games, the Epic Games Store is currently giving away Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure and Trash Goblin until May 14th. This confluence of sales, bundles, and free offerings across multiple platforms creates a robust landscape for PC gamers to find value and discover new favorites, whether their interest lies in deep deckbuilding strategy, action-packed adventures, or relaxing puzzles.
